The Le Forban Sécurité Mer* brand was created in 1969, with a collection of "skindiver" watches, i.e. sports watches with moderate dimensions to be worn in all circumstances. They were mainly sold through sports shops.
Le Forban Sécurité Mer even became one of the few French brands to equip the French Navy and maritime patrol sailors (PATMAR) in the 70s and 80s.
After two very dynamic decades and a few final successes, including the launch of a French Navy series based on the 'Monnin' model, the company ran into difficulties and disappeared in 1989...
... only to resurface in 2019 thanks to two enthusiasts determined to revive the 'pirate' brand of French watchmaking.
*Forban refers to a pirate, buccaneer or intrepid sailor.
